Barry Diller Can't Resist
1:42 PMIAC/Interactive media (owners of Ticketmaster.com/Match.com and more) just announced they will take the number 5 position in web portal searchers (AskJeeves.com) and compete against the big titans of the internet (Google.com, MSN.com, Yahoo.com, etc). The deal is valued at 1.85 Billion in stock, with a repurchase agreement. "Global search is the gateway to everything," said media mogul Barry Diller, chairman and chief executive of IAC.
